Mailina Betsey-Chambers is a proud graduate of Conard High School and the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts Half-Day Program. Her journey in leadership and advocacy began early as a dedicated participant in Delta Sigma Theta's mentorship programs for young African American women. She was involved in Delta Academy from ages 8 to 13 and Delta GEMS from 14 to 18. Passionate about ensuring fair treatment for her fellow students, she served on the social media committee at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts.
With a longstanding commitment to the arts, Mailina has gained valuable experience as both a stagehand and stage manager, playing a vital role in bringing performances to life for her school. She is deeply grateful for the support she has received from the Joseph family and the Hartford Foundation, which will help her pursue her educational goals at Manchester Community College.
